On Saturday the 19th of November, my sister, cousin, mum and I went to the mall to buy some clothes for church. We went there in my mum's red Suzuki.

After we arrived we went straight to the Warehouse to buy some clothes for my cousin because she was staying over at our house that night. While my mum and my cousin was walking around, my sister and I looked for some decorations that we could put in our own room. I didn't find anything because the decorations that they had didn't match the theme of my room so I bought three ripped pair of jeans instead.

We bought my cousin a pink lovely shirt to match her pink leggings and we also bought her some laced shoes. Afterwards, we bought some perfume because we were running out of perfumes. We all got the Victoria secret perfumes. My mum  bought two black and white cushions to put on our wooden chairs that are on our back deck.

Later on, we were all feeling very hungry so we drove to a nearby McDonald's because the McDonald's in the mall was packed with people. I got a medium quarter pounder with an L&P drink, my sister and my cousin got a big mac combo and my mum got some chilli fries with a legend burger and she also got a flat white.

After a while, my sister decided to go and buy some dunkin donuts and sushi for my brother because he is a sushi lover. My mum gave her the key to her car so she could put the food inside the car while we ate our food. Afterwards, my cousin and I played hide and seek in the park and I won. Soon, my mum called us in so we could go home and take a shower.

My mum drove us home and we got our church clothes ready for the next day. We all took turns having a shower. After we were all clean we watched a movie and ate some donuts before we dozed off to sleep.

My favourite part was when we went to McDonald's because I was very hungry and the food was very delicious.

I love spending time with my mum! By Jayden

On Saturday the 19th of November, my mum and I went to Burger King in Panmure at noon to have something to eat.

Image result for bowlingWhen we got there, I bought some fries because I wasn't really hungry. The fries were delicious with the tomato sauce.

After we ate, we went to the AMF Panmure Superbowl which was near burger king.

When we got there, my mum and I walked to the register and paid for us to play four games and it cost more than $25 dollars.

After we paid, we walked to our bowling lane and it was number 14. My mum went first. She rolled the bowling ball and she managed to hit two pins down, after that, she hit another five pins. Next it was my turn, I grabbed a light pink ball and on my first attempt, I hit six pins and the I hit three more. After that, It was my mum's turn and after she hit six pins, it was my turn and I hit all eight of my pins. At the end of all of our games, my mum won.

After our bowling games, we played some arcade games. My mum bought 20 tokens and we had half each. The first game that I played was called Deal or no deal, I won 100 tickets out of it. I played a basketball shooting game next and I managed to shoot the ball in 20 times and gave me 30 tickets. After that, I played whack a mole. I had to use the hammer to hit the mole that kept popping up and my score was, 130.

Later on, we had to go so I put all of my tickets into the ticket machine so that I could get a receipt to see how many I had collected in order to pick one of the prizes from the prize shelf. My ticket number came up to 550 so I walked with my mum to the prize shelf and asked for two dice, three parachutes and a whoopie cushion. After I picked my prizes, we went home and had a nap.

It was the best day ever, because I loved spending time with my mum. I hope that we could be able to  go back there with my whole family next time because it was so much fun.

Learning intention: We are learning to use descriptive language in our recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I use adjectives to describe my Saturday night with my mum.

Sanding wood is hard! By Caleb

On Thursday 11th of November, Room 7 had a great time taking the pieces out for our glider and sanding it to make it smooth!

First we scored our pieces of the wood. It was very hard because the craft knife kept going out of the sharpie marker line. Scoring the back wings of the wood was very hard because the 1.5 millimetre wood was very fragile and it was very hard to keep the cutting line straight. After I completed scoring my pieces of wood, I put the blade through the lines so the piece that I had split would fall out. It took me a very long time because I was being very careful so that my pieces of wood would not split. 10 minutes later, I heard a crack and my piece of wood started splitted along the side.

Next, I  to Salome and asked her for what to do next. That was when I noticed my classmates were smoothing out their pieces of balsa wood. So I asked Salome and she gave me sandpaper too. Salome gave a sheet of sandpaper to use for sanding my pieces. It was rough and black, but rubbery on the other side. I quickly took the sandpaper and started sanding the pieces. It was a bit hard because the wood was very rough around the edges and the and the sandpaper kept slipping off the fuselage's side. However I had to wait for Tristan because I needed the craft knife to cut a part of the fuselage that wasn't split yet.

After I smoothed out all the pieces out all the pieces the pieces of wood, I swiftly smoothed the fin, but it snapped in two like a cracker so I had to start again. When I finished carefully smoothing out the fin, it was time to pack up because it was the beginning of morning tea. Soon we had to say goodbye to Salome and we had to clean up as fast as the wind, then went out to play outside.

Getting our pieces ready for glueing was awesome! I wish we had more time so we could have started piecing them together. My favourite part of the day was sanding and getting our pieces ready for piecing together.

Learning Intention: We are learning to use descriptive language in our recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I use appropriate adjectives to describe the art lesson that we had on Thursday.

Going to the Laundromat can be a bit boring! By Rhonda

Image result for washing machine cartoonDuring the weekends, my mum, older sisters and I went to the Laundromat to wash some clothes and our school uniforms for school. Before we left the house, I had to help my older sister to put all the dirty clothes into the bag. Then we had to wait for my mum to finish getting changed. After that, we left in our dad’s small and grey car.

I felt very excited about going there, because I like wearing clean clothes there. When we got there, my sister parked the car and we took the clothes inside the Laundromat. My mum and I put two bags of clothes into one of the machine, then we put the last bag in another washing machine because they didn’t all fit in the one machine. Then my mum went to go and get some coins to put into the coin slots for the machines to operate. We put in four dollars each into the machines. Then I pressed the start button and then we waited.

While we were waiting, my mum gave my sister and I some money each to go and buy some food from the shops to eat. My sister didn’t know what to buy so she bought a bag of chips instead. I bought two pies for my mum and I to enjoy. I also bought a big bottle of water just in case my sister or my mum got thirsty.

A little while later, the washing was finished. We put the wet clothes back into the bags and took it to the dryer. Then my mum told my sister to put the school uniforms in one machine and all the other clothes go together in another machine. After that, my mum put another four dollars each into the machine, then I pressed the start button again. After that, we had to wait again.

While we were waiting my, older sister and I went and listened to music in the car because we were bored, and my mum waited in the Laundromat for the clothes to dry. Some of the songs that were playing  on the radio were my sister’s favourite songs. After we listened to music for a little while, we went back inside to check how much longer to go.

We looked and it’s was five more minutes left, so we went back to the car to listen to some more music.

After we listened to more music, we went back inside to check to see if the clothes were ready and they were. So I went to grab the bag and we quickly put the clothes in. After that, we went back home.

I had a great and happy time going to the Laundromat with my mum and older  sister. Next time I hope we bring more clothes to wash because my sister and I listened to our favourite songs together.

Learning intention: We are learning to write a recount.Success criteria: I know I can do this when I use appropriate verbs to describe my recount of going to the Laundromat with my mum and my older sister.
